“It won’t just stick back into place,” said Delia, fumbling with the elephant’s trunk.
“Here,” replied Alice, handing over a tube of super glue.
“I thought it was made of ivory,” said Delia, turning the figurine over in her hand.
“Nothing mum owns is what it looks like,” sighed Alice.
“You know,” grumbled Delia, “this would be a lot easier without all the blood on my hands.”

Oh, it’s okay. Necessary even. We need reminding of the effects of animal abuse on the human soul from time-to-time. I found the reference to hands being bloodstained right after discovering the figurine is made of ivory and that there are other figurines like it ominous. But I appreciate the irony, which is the blog’s intent.

Interesting the different interpretations of this tale. Across the social medias I have seen 6 different variations of the meanings of this one, from they just killed the mum to general anti poaching or the figurine itself was alive.

I think this one hits more nails than the general theme of quippy punchlines of the skits on the site. Interesting stuff.

I just think of Leatherface when I read this. Piecing flesh back together. Guess I’m a bit warped.
