After two years of fighting bad solicitors, land registry, idiot house buyers and the loss of my entire life savings, I’m finally taking the second step in moving to Scotland. At this point, we have a completion date for this Friday with the current buyer, after five months of stupidity with their solicitor, we still haven’t exchanged contracts and he still doesn’t have the deposit.
Jesus. Fecking. Wept.
So I don’t know what or when anything is happening with this flat, but I’m certain I need to get to Scotland to see my missus. I haven’t seen her in over a year. So I’ve shipped my last parcel of stuff to her mum and dads and I’ll be riding up tomorrow on a wee 125cc motorbike. It’s about 16 hours total. My satnav display goes on for a few pages. Hoping to take advantage of the sun and early summer long days. I’m sure I’ll tweet from a few services on the way up.
@TheLittleFears on Twatter.
When I’m up there I’ll be posting daily as per normal, but as I’ll be on a 500mb a month 3g connection, I shan’t be as prolific in the community as I have been. There’s no point me getting a contract internet until I have my own home again. Possibly within two months, I hope. Until then my blog browsing will be cut right back. You’ll still get a daily helping of humour, with the odd philosophical pondering or spooky horror. I’ll just be a lot less vocal on other your blogs. Sorry. I’m sure y’all understand.
Hope to see you yonder!
Cheers
Safe journey and hope it all works out. (My kind of Sat Nav too, by the way).

Good luck. Safe travels. I quite envy a journey that long on a 125cc. What a pity you have to wear a helmet though. Not that I wish to kill you off, just the thought of wind in the hair – just like old times!

Arf, yeah I wear an open face helmet. Need a breeze on the face in this weather.

Took about 18 hours at the end. 2 hours stoppage hiding in cafes from the rain! It’s deceptive. The first half of the journey to Newcastle I didn’t drop below 60mph. It took about 6 hours. The second half was up and down speed wise and took 12 hours. Still enjoyed. 🙂

16 hours?
jeez, used to take me about 8 hours to drive from birmingham back to Blairgowrie in my old citroen 2cv6 ( top speed 50mph, downhill, with a gale force wind at my back) – wouldn’t fancy a 16 hour drive!
anyways, glad to hear you got to your destination safely – eventually !
