Heck yeah! DRINK TEA!
My creativity is pretty much fuelled by tea. I drink at least ten mugs a day. Usually closer to fifteen. About one an hour. And my cups massive.

Like, fo real, look at that bastard! It’s bigger than a reindeer! It’s a double sized mug. Well, by British standards.
Whatever… It holds lots of tea! Back to the tea-tee.

Fuen holding a cuppa is for me, quite frankly, moods. She’s available from our Threadless store and here’s a link to it: littlefears.threadless.com

Gotta admit – love the post – but – were I to drink that much tea – well, let’s just say I would have to move my computer to the bathroom. While I am a coffee drinker (not really as I limit myself to one cup – sometimes two cups a day), I do love tea as well both black and green tea. At bedtime I have also been known to drink some chamomile tea and then there is Vanilla Chai Tea. Hmmm, I just convinced myself that I prefer tea over coffee. Again – enjoy your posts. Thanks for sharing.

The big questions is, loose leaf or bagged? I believe bagged is a sin against humanity.

I’ve never had Typhoo – not sure if you can get it in Canada. I’m such a tea snob that I buy all my loose leaf from teacentre.ca. They have a great Earl Grey.

You can get Typhoo at Loblaws (in Toronto, at least). I’ve never tried it. though, so can’t vouch. I’m going to go take a look at tea centre. I also recommend teaandallitssplendour.com 🙂

I’m out of place here, but running out of reply buttons below isn’t going to stop me responding when an issue is as important as this one, to wit, Typhoo in Birmingham but fill-in-the-blank (probably Yorkshire) in Yorkshire: I know someone who keeps kosher in St. Paul, Minnesota, but not necessarily in the rest of the world. I don’t think that has to do with the water. In fact, I don’t think I understood any reason he offered for it.
That’s not entirely relevant, I admit, but it was just screaming to be typed.

I’m with you on Yorkshire (see below, where there aren’t any reply buttons) but you lost me on Twinings and Clipper, which taste like colored water.
Not to be opinionated about this or anything.
LikeLike
I suppose it depends on the water where you are. Had a discussion with a colleague yesterday who said he preferred Typhoo when he lived in Birmingham, but up in Yorkshire it doesn’t taste right.

How peculiar. I guess it would make a difference. Hard water vs soft water in tea.

I’m a coffee man myself. That said, they brought in this coffee here at work that tastes like it was put together by some sheepherder that hasn’t washed his hands in a month, found some poison ivy along the trail and added it in for flavor, and then tossed in a handful of something that came out of the south end of a north bound chipmunk to really make it revolting.
Now, that’s one way to convert me into a tea drinker.

I must say that without tea I would not be a writer…COULD not be a writer. I am only motivated and sufficiently soothed to start the process once I have a steaming mug of tea beside me on my desk, sharing the pain, so to speak. I may not drink all of it or indeed any of it but it must be there.

My Mother made a good cup of tea.
Frequently, after school, she would make us a pot (bagged Lipton’s, I’m sure) for us to enjoy, Either she knew exactly the right amount of milk to add, or like all good parenting, whatever she did established a Pavlovian response, but to this day, with the flashback I have whenever I catch that aroma -in my mind, I can see the kitchen table, and taste the Graham Crackers I loved to dunk.
However, I have the coffee gene.
I heard an interview with a journalist who had a full DNA workup, and evidentially, somewhere on the chain, there is such a thing as a coffee receptor. If you have it, you know you have it-last week, I drank my usual morning pot of coffee, but because I had had a difficult night’s sleep, I had to take a nap at 9:30am.
