Brass Ep. 81
“I should tell you,” said Fuen. “As creations of the living, how we carry on past the expiration of our creators, differs for everyone. Yuffie showed Hydra to a bunch of artists to keep his memory alive. He grew from three foot tall to twelve foot tall. It’s all about how the living interprets and remember the ideas, hopes and dreams of the dead.”
“Like critics looking for meaning in a hundred year old painting,” pondered Copper. “When sometimes, the artist just wanted to paint a boat.”
“Exactly,” remarked Fuen. “However we’re interpreted, good ideas are worth keeping alive, aye?”

We’re all, trying to leave our separate marks on the world, making sure, that we don’t easily get forgotten after we’re dead and gone…

Not sure everyone does that, taurusingemini. I’ve known people who want to do good (help others, make the world around them better) for the purpose of doing good, finding satisfaction in their toils. Although many do this – and whatever their field of work requires of them as well – in a bid to be acknowledged and recognized by their fellow man, I don’t think we can say that we’re ALL trying to ensure that we remain alive in the minds of future generations. 🙂
I would like to know a bit more about your thoughts regarding the comment you wrote, because it’s easy to misinterpret text!

Sure, i know for certain, that there are many people in this world who want to do good, because of it being the right things to do, but a lot of the times, people may have alternative motives for doing good, like getting the spotlight, being acknowledged for being a good person.

Right on. Just wanted to say that we shouldn’t generalize it by saying we’re all trying to do that (I don’t suppose you meant yourself as well when you said that, but it’s just generalizing anything and everything, which is quite prevelant these days, that gets me worked up! Glad to know you meant it in good spirit 🙂

It’s shocking how good ideas can dissappear so quickly. We think humanity has an intrinsic memory but so many things get forgotten once a generation has gone.

To think how much humanity has learned, then forgotten.

Sometimes, I just wanna paint a boat. Simple elegance of play in our great work?
