Doe

Getting a bit cold this week in the Scottish hills as we move into Autumn, so an icy antlered Doe arrived for this weeks #Colour_Collective. Could imagine her giving a deer hunter a bit of a shock. The colour this week is Glaucous.

A wee thingy about the image quality this last month here, at the Fears. Since arriving in Scotland I’ve been on a 4G connection through my mobile in the mountains. It was generally worse than 90s dial-up. We kludged around it, but until this last few days, I haven’t been able to upload anything bigger than 200kb from home. That’s meant going so far as removing the paper texture from my drawings to reduce file size. Yeuch. Sorry if it’s given a whiff of the ugly.

I got a contractless router to take the heat off my phone. The updated version of this thing from 4Gee. Our landline in the new home was so bad we actually got a 4G aerial fitted to the house free, then a price reduction on our 4Gee monthly plan. We’re still paying about £60 a month for the net, but we’ve gone from less than 28k download speeds and zero upload speeds to about 60mb download and 15mb upload. That’s better than my old fibre optic line in London! Cripes.

So I’ll carry on with Inktober as I have been for a bit of consistency, hopefully, upload a few videos, then crack on with the great schemes for the Fears in November.

Ooo, and November! For the men, don’t forget about Movember. For the writers, don’t forget about NaNoWriMo. Anyone participating in either?

With special thanks

Weekly shout out to my $10 patron, Warren from IWrite. Without people like Warren, I wouldn’t be able to wake you all with my little fears and you’d probably cry a lot less in the morning than you already do. So please do check out Warrens blog.

Trine

I’d like to introduce Trine for this weeks #Colour_Collective. The colour this week is Cardinal Red. I’m never quite sure if this character reminds me of a dinosaur or a bird. I’ve always liked her head shape though.

Blue’d

This weeks #Colour_Collective is Cornflower Blue. Exactly the same colour as this angry fellow. He was yelling at me until he was blue in the face… Then he popped… You know the sort, right?

POP!

Fear of houses

Domatophobia. The fear of houses or being in a house. I do wonder if there is a fear of buying houses. Still, no written confirmation my house purchase is even going to start. Anyone who tells me the Scottish property system is better than the English property system will be fed to a sheep.

This post only exists so I can post a sheep picture if I’m honest. Sorry for bleating on at ewe. I’m a bit woolly-headed at the moment. It’s just I’ve herd a few sheep puns lately. Most of them are pretty baa’d.  Old folks seem to flock to them.

Aquarius

‘He steadied himself against the tiles. He’d been here for twenty-three hours. Stuck at a public urinal. Releasing an endless stream of urine. He wondered whom he’d pissed off to deserve this fate. She stood quietly behind him. Wondering how much longer he could stand here before his legs gave.’

Steady on Aquarius. That’s a harsh punishment for laughing at astrology. Harsh punishments aside, she’s been drawn onto 240 gsm acid-free acrylic paper for some lovely texturing. She weighs in at a size of 7 inches tall by 5 inches across. Pens included in images for size reference only. They do not come with the illustration. Neither does the wood table. It’s pretty minging. Also lopsided if I’m honest… She comes with free first class shipping within one business day so will arrive on your doorstep in a speedy fashion.

If there’s a Little Fear that you’d like made to order, please do let me know.

Migrations

So, obviously, I did it. I made the ride from London to Scotland. About 960 km. In one run. Got up at 2 am, loaded my life onto the back of my bike, and whoosh. Off I went. Made it to Newcastle by 9:30 am. Smashed it! Then remembered the second half of the journey takes twice as long as the first half. On top of that, Scotland gave me a very wet and very windy Scottish welcome. So I lost 2 hours sitting in cafes waiting for the rain to feck off. I arrived in the Grampian mountains around 8 pm.

My house sale actually went through in the end. Two years… The whole sorry saga still cost me way-way-way over £100,000. My life savings are gone. The stupidity, evil and greed of humans eh? Seriously had to scale back on what we wanted to buy. Good news though already put an offer on a house up here and hopefully completing early September. Get in!

Until then, I have the option of the missus mum and dads wireless internet. Slower than the old dial-up connections. Literally, cannot play a video. Or using my phone as a 3g hub. Possible, but as you can imagine, the middle of the Scottish mountains has some seriously shonky reception. I can also pop into the closest town cafe and sponge the wifi as much as is possible over a cuppa tea. Now that option works for me! Haha.

In the meantime, I can keep creating, writing, drawing, finding new clients and getting ready to take over the world from a new home.

I gotta say. Big thanks to everyone who’s continuing to support me while I’m barely active in the community. The visitors, the commenters, the post sharers, the patrons, the Ko-Fi buyers, the art purchases and book readers. It all helps. Thank you. You’re a wonderful audience.

Rhubarb

Say hello to Rhubarb. This weeks #Colour_Collective is Lincoln Green. The top of the horns is Lincoln Green. Originally had a black body, coloured purple, and looks so much as fear of Rhubarb to me.

Virgos Macabre Dance

“Her pen danced across the page. The final letter in place, the nib tore through the paper. As well as the skin and flesh beneath.”

Hot crappity damn Virgo! Well, she’s arrived at the Little Fears Etsy store. She’s available as an original art piece, not a print. On 220 gsm canvas card. Inked with a Faber-Castell PITT artist pen – Black. Free first class Royal Mail worldwide delivery. I also have Leo the lioness and the Siamese kitties in my shop if Virgo doesn’t tickle your fancy.

Peached

We’ll have no Princesses here. Peach for this weeks #Colour_Collective. Freshly doodled this week. Quite like the overall appearance of him.
