Bench

“What’s up?” asked Sprite.

“Oh, it’s my missus,” replied Spectre. “She keeps asking me to dress up as a character from Alice in Wonderland.”

“Are you mad at her?” asked Sprite.

“Oh, don’t you start,” grumbled Spectre.

Bicycle

“I’m telling you,” said Sprite, “those eyes again!”

“It sounds like you’ve been watching too many horror movies,” said Fuen.

“I never got that about horror movies,” pondered Yuffie.

“What’s that?” asked Fuen.

“So, the killer’s on the loose, and the teenager is in the house, and they start calling out ‘hello’ and ‘is anybody there?’” replied Yuffie.

Fuen and Sprite waited through a pause.

“I mean what do they expect?” asked Yuffie. “The killer to call back ‘yeah I’m in the kitchen, fancy a sammich?’”

Cabins

“Well, the news says it’s a terrorist,” said Serpent.

“Oh dear,” sighed Fuen. “Never had one of them around here before.”

“What did he do?” asked Sprite.

“Well first he blew down a straw cabin, then a wood cabin,” said Serpent.

“Good grief!” exclaimed Sprite. “Sounds like a lone wolf…”

Serpent winced.

Car

“It wasn’t good,” sighed Serpent.

“I don’t doubt that,” sighed Fuen.

“What’s that?” asked Spectre.

“Red put Red Bull in his coffee this morning instead of water,” sighed Serpent.

“Oh dear!” squeaked Spectre, “is he OK?”

“Oh, he’s fine now,” said Serpent.

“Any major effects?” asked Spectre.

“He drove 12 miles to work,” sighed Serpent, “then realized he’d left the car at home…”

Eyes

“They flashed red I’m sure,” said Sprite.

“They just vanished into the bush then?” asked Fuen.

“Yes!” cried Sprite. “It reminds me of the time I was attacked by a monster wielding a camera.”

“You what?” asked Fuen.

“Oh yes,” said Sprite, “I still have flashbacks.”

Fuen grimaced.

Fence

“Been a crap week,” sighed Sprite.

“I know right,” replied Spectre. “Hasn’t been good since we moved from that field.”

“Do you know,” said Sprite, “I’m sure the grass looks greener on that side of the fence.”

“You said that last week,” said Spectre.

“I know,” replied Sprite.

“While standing in that field,” pointed out Spectre.

“Yes,” replied Sprite.

“Also, how can you even see the grass? It’s under a foot of snow,” asked Spectre.

“Well…” sighed Sprite.

“Who do you think you are,” sighed Spectre, “a human voting for political change?”

Sprite sighed. “I just want a change.”

Frogged

“OK, Lily Pad,” said Frog, “this is a library, right?”

“Oh yes,” said Lily Pad, “we have books on everything you could think of.”

“Including psychology,” asked Frog.

“Of course,” said Lily Pad.

“Good,” said Frog, “I need something on paranoia.”

“It’s behind you…” whispered Lily Pad.

Lone Tree

“Then I chopped it down,” declared Serpent.

“But why?” asked Cloud.

“To style, create and build my own IKEA sofa and cupboard set,” said Serpent.

“Oh my!” exclaimed Cloud impressed. “Did you make it up?”

“Yeah,” admitted Serpent, “I’m actually buying a set next week.”

Cloud winced.

Mountain

“Oh my!” exclaimed Yuffie. “You climbed right to the top?”

“Yes, I did,” replied Serpent.

“What was up there?” asked Fuen.

“A wise man,” replied Serpent. “Said to be the man who created crossword puzzles.”

“Incredible” said Spectre, “what’s he called?”

“P something… T something something…” sighed Serpent.

Rice

“OK,” said Yuffie, “well it’s good you escaped, but why did Lizard chase you around the breakfast table?”

“Made a scene at his wedding,” sighed Spectre.

“Oh dear,” said Yuffie. “What happened?”

“Well you know you’re meant to throw rice at the bride?” said Spectre.

“Yes,” replied Yuffie.

“Nobody told me I had to take it out of the bag first,” grumbled Spectre.
