Tennis

“It’s been tried,” sighed White.

“What’s that” asked Fuen.

“We were just discussing fish in sports,” said Black.

“Tried gettin’ a shoal of fish to play tennis,” said White.

“Ah,” said Fuen, “what was the problem?”

“Couldn’t get them near the nets,” sighed White.

Mum

“Can we mum?” asked the spiders in unison.

“No,” replied Mum.

“Oooooh, but muuuuuum,” whined the spiders in unison.

“No means no,” said Mum.

“But all our friends have started blogging,” moaned the spiders.

“Listen,” said Mum, “you three spend far too much time on the web already!”

Hair

“Smoke, you don’t have any hair,” said Fuen.

“Yes I do,” said Smoke, “look.”

Smoke ruffled the top of his head.

“Yeah, but that ain’t actually hair is it,” stated Fuen.

“Could be,” sighed Smoke.

“A hairdresser would say you are bald, mate,” said Red.

“Oh, now that’s a cutting remark,” replied Smoke.

Fuen winced.

Ash

“Oh piss off,” said Cigarette.

Ash laughed. “Oh, come on!”

“What’s up?” asked Fuen.

“Cigarette won’t play with me anymore,” said Ash.

“Why not?” asked Fuen.

“Because,” sighed Cigarette, “I’m sick of being the butt of his jokes.”

Ash smirked.

Fuen groaned.

Bridges

“I mean that could be a metaphor for life,” said Sprite, watching the fires burning on the bridge.

“Yeah,” sighed Fuen, “burnt a few too many bridges in my time.”

“Regrets?” asked Sprite.

“Many,” replied Fuen.

“How about you Yuffie?” asked Sprite.

“Oh, I don’t regret burning down bridges,” replied Yuffie. “I only regret some people weren’t on them at the time.”

Skype

“Excuse me,” said Reala, “I think I’m lost.”

The human walked past without a second glance.

“God, I’m lonely here,” sighed Reala.

“Oi!” came a voice from the tree.

Reala turned to see a bright orange bug clamped onto the bark.

“Think you’re lonely?” asked the bug, “I’m so lonely, whenever I use Skype I only have Echo to talk to.”

Balance

“Is that Hydra balancing on top of that building?” asked Sprite.

“Yup,” replied Yuffie.

“What’s that he’s eating?” asked Fuen.

“Donuts,” sighed Yuffie.

“But why is he eating them up there?” asked Sprite.

“Because,” sighed Yuffie, “I told him he needed to eat a more balanced diet.”

Upload

“OK,” said Cloud, “but I’m still not sure why the humans feel the need to dump information into me.”

“I don’t think its personal,” replied Yuffie.

“The problem is,” said Fuen, “humans are addicted to social media and the internet in general.”

“Yeah, it’s all they think about,” agreed Yuffie.

“Had a human once dump a camera into me,” said Hydra.

“Oh my!” squeaked Yuffie.

“S’alright,” said Hydra. “When it came out the snaps it took on the way through went down a storm on Instagram.”

Dog

“So, there’s this banging on my door right,” said Blue.

“Right,” replied Fisherman.

“And it’s these two coppers, right,” said Blue.

“Right,” said Fisherman.

“They tell me there’s been a complaint about my dog chasing a man on a bicycle,” said Blue.

“Mmmhmm,” murmured Fisherman.

“So I tells em straight,” gesticulated Blue, “my dog doesn’t own a bicycle.”

Etsy

“What does he mean,” asked Hydra.

“He means he is going to replicate us for sale,” sighed Yuffie.

“He’s gonna clone us,” gasped Hydra.

“No,” sighed Yuffie. “It’s worse. He is going to put pictures of us on Etsy.”

“Like artwork,” asked Hydra.

“Yeah,” replied Yuffie.

“If he makes any prints of me,” grumbled Fuen, “I am going to make him Regretsy…”
