Prison Suits

Finding Leeds – ep. 14

“Indeed,” sighed Lily. “We had a nightmare of a time containing her in prison.”

“Did she escape?” asked Sally.

“Many times,” sighed Lily.

“What did you do?” asked Sally.

“We made her a new prison suit out of dock leaves,” said Lily.

“Dock leaves?” enquired Sally.

“Yes,” said Lily. “They kept her from breaking out.”

Mafia Links

Finding Leeds – ep. 13

“How did you catch her?” asked Sally.

“We caught her in in the act of theft at a diary factory,” replied Lily.

“What was she stealing?” asked Sally.

“Twenty-four crates of diaries for the year 2052,” replied Lily. “She was going to sell them on to the Sicilian Mafia.”

“Gosh,” replied Sally. “That sounds like a very organised crime.”

Dirty Diaries

Finding Leeds – ep. 12

“There’s a discoloured patch on the wall,” observed Lily.

“Yes ma’am,” replied Sally, pulling out a tape measure.

“You’ll find it twenty-eight centimetres by twenty-one centimetres,” said Lily. “The exact size of a standard calendar.”

Sally paused with her measuring and turned to DCI Lily. “You’re spot on!”

“This has the hallmarks of Anita Bath, the dirty diary stealer of Doncaster,” said Lily.

“Diary stealer ma’am?” asked Sally.

“We caught her last year,” sighed Lily. “She got 12 months…”

Jelly Throw

Finding Leeds – ep. 11

“Sally, what do you make of this?” asked Lily.

Sally poked a solid translucent substance by the body.

“It looks like jelly that’s been left out too long to me,” said Lily.

“I agree,” said Sally, collecting some in an evidence bag.

Lily leant against the counter. “So the killer used a congealed weapon.”

Capricorn

Ooo, too the oldies, she needs no introduction. Capricorn for this weeks #Colour_Collective. The colour this week is Amethyst.  I thought I’d try a splash background for this fiendish lady. It works, though on posting on the laptop, it looks awfully harsh. Different screens and all that. Gosh, she’s pretty…

For the new folk to the Fears, my book of horror tales was named after her recurring appearances driving Malcolm to madness throughout. Capricorn is available on Amazon from this linky. https://amzn.to/2N2rWVy

With special thanks

Weekly shout out to my $10 patron, Warren from IWrite. Without people like Warren, I wouldn’t be able to wake you all with my little fears and you’d probably cry a lot less in the morning than you already do. So please do check out Warrens blog.

Hawaiian Pizza

Finding Leeds – ep. 10

“Smoke!” cried Sally.

“Quick,” shouted Lily, “it’s coming from the oven.”

Lily and Sally dashed across the room, yanked the oven door open, and pulled out the trays from inside.

“Ham and pineapple pizza ma’am,” said Sally. “Not only was she illegally cooking Hawaiian pizzas in her breakfast bar, but the oven was on far too hot.”

“She should have known,” replied Lily, “you need to cook them at aloha temperature.”

Smashed Cups

Finding Leeds – ep. 9

“Inspector,” said Lily. “Come and have a look at this.”

Sally wandered over for a look. “What’s this?”

“Looks like a broken cup,” said Lily.

“If I’m not mistaken,” observed Sally, “the cup contained hot chocolate.”

Lily nodded in agreement. “She was mugged…”

Square Eggs

Finding Leeds – ep. 8

“Oh no,” cried Sally.

“What’s wrong?” asked Lily.

“The Constable told me there was a box of square eggs on the side,” said Sally. “But they aren’t there anymore!”

“Square eggs?” asked Lily.

Sally nodded. “Mislaid.”

Breakfast Bar

Finding Leeds – ep. 7

“Ma’am,” said Sally, “we just got a call over the radio.”

“Another murder?” asked Lily.

“Afraid so,” replied Sally.

“Where’s this one?” enquired Lily.

“Wee Breakfast Bar, on the corner of Piccadilly,” said Sally.

“It would appear,” replied Lily, “we could be facing a cereal killer.”

Clear Issue

Finding Leeds – ep. 6

“I stayed at her families house overnight three years ago,” said Sally.

“Oh really?” asked Lily.

“I should have known about Molly’s criminal intentions back then,” sighed Sally.

“Did she have an attitude towards stealing bus stops back then?” asked Lily.

“Well,” said Sally, “the signs were there.”
