Fur appears to be my new comfort zone. Doesn’t help that all of my finest fine liners ran out of ink at the same time. Doh. Note to self. Give tomorrows kaiju less fur and buy myself some FW inks, a dip pen and a nib pack.
Nearly half-way through Kaijune, and I’m making my way into new sets of stories without my beloved Posca pens.
I seem to have moved onto Faber-Castell Pitt Artist pens for everything. Now that’s an expensive transition! I need to investigate FW inks and dip pens. It would be a lot cheaper and give me more colour options. Also, the way my missus raves about them, I think the FW stands for ‘fecking wonderful.’
It’s Deerhound! She’s featured a few times in the Fears stories. I love the idea of a giant Scottish-deerhound with antlers walking across the landscape.
I’m adamant once I’m earning enough money we’re getting a Scottish deerhound. They’re lovely dogs. Gentle giants with pokey faces.
This, of course, has my missus in tears of laughter. I’ve spent the last 15 years of my life being kicked out of bed by Jack Russell Terriers. But that’s unfair. Anyone who’s owned a terrier can attest, the little sods can stretch in bed to in-human sizes. Well, in-dog sizes? Whatever. They can take up more space in bed than a horse when they want too.
As I finish typing this, Lily, a Jack Russell cross, just shoved me off my chair. OK, maybe the missus has a point…
Bonus dog-pictures.

Shout out to Kathy of Kathy of London for new patronage this morning. You’ll find photography, poetry and pecking birds on her blog, so if you fancy any of the above, give her a visit. Cheers, Kat!
A twelve-legged spider, creeping through the city. Arachnophobiacs, I am sorry.
My missus recently asked me to take a spider out instead of killing it. So I took him to a bar. Had a few drinks. Seemed like a nice guy. He’s training to be a web developer.
Here we have a sea monster kaiju with 80’s poofy hair and punk-pink stripes. I have no idea where I was going with this beast.
I didn’t intend to complete Kaijune. I think I started it as a distraction while lining up the next lot of usual daily-tales. But I’m digging the larger than usual fearful monsters. Doodles on lo-fi photos work quite well, I think.
Another kaiju for kaijune. Vulture kaiju or skeksis, not sure which. Big arse winged mofo though.
Did everyone see the Dark Crystal trailer? In my teen years, I was nicknamed Jen after the main character of the film, so I’ve got a soft spot for Dark Crystal. I love the use of puppets too. It doesn’t look like CGI. Always a win. There’s something so charming about physical props.
Dinosaurs are awesome. Though they do have their problems. I once met a dinosaur who kept crashing their car. Ruddy Tyrannosaurus wrecks…
Hah! Get it? *Kertish* Regular pun-based service resumes on Monday. Scanning in today’s Kaiju this morning and I realise, I’ve doodled up a purple version of how I imagine Red looks.
Catfish-shark-faced-kaiju? I had a look online for shark kaiju and found all the usual great-white based creatures, but nothing else. So how about a whiskered shark, somewhere between a Columbian shark and a banded cat-shark?
That’s it! I’m finished posting complete series. You can find them all on my new home page ( littlefears.co.uk ). I’m properly happy with my new front page. I have missed off a few projects long and short. Inktober 17/18 and Lucy’s story come to mind. But all the big ones are there and neither Lucy’s story or Inktober is particularly noteworthy.
But look at my home page! Look at it!
That’s a much better website. I’m giving myself a pat on the back there.
