Screen Time

She stood by the console, looking at her laptop screen. She composed herself. She hadn’t expected it to be like this.

She adjusted her screen. Interestingly, she had no reflection. She turned to look at the body, laying sideways on the floor, still half in the fallen chair.

As the paramedics hammered on the door, she sighed knowing it was too late. She wasn’t coming back from this one.

In lieu of Hydra story because they’ll be Monday to Friday this coming week, a Saturday night horror story.

  1. Still can’t comment from the %$#*ing reader, so I am out free ranging the internet! “Composed Herself” is like the best short story in forever. Maybe she knocks off the writer because he isn’t listening to her…Maybe she drops in as a muse on a computer abonded for a sandwich or fresh coffee. Not another automaton or software generated being, but flesh and blood as she composed herself…Might have to run with this one. Check’s in the mail!

    1. Haha, yup. Cheers Phil. 🙂

Won’t be able to comment from the Reader for a while. Automatic (JetPack) turned off comments in the reader to self-hosted blogs at some point. They say it will return in future but no date, so we shan’t hold our breath heh.
