Copper Pans

“Apples? Do you like apples?”

She offered an apple out to the mechanical creature.

“Click, click, whir,” came the reply without a bite.

“Oh, I don’t know,” she sighed. “She just left you with me and told me to keep you fed. I mean what the bloody ‘eck do I feed a clockwork lizard!”

She wandered into the kitchen to continue preparing her apple pie.

“It’s not easy you know, she’s so random! And shes got all this weird stuff. You’re about the least weird thing she’s given me”, she mused as he dropped in the apples, syrup, brown sugar and drop of oil into the beaten copper pan

She ambled back into the room and stood to face the metal lizard.

CHOMP!

She looked down at what remained of the copper pans handle.

“Copper. You like copper?”

  1. OH MY GOODNESS wait wait wait Copper just started life as a brainless metal-eating lizard robot? I AM CURIOUS. (This is what I get for jumping in near the end and then finding my way back to the start. I hope you won’t mind me commenting on nearly every chapter – I love to leave feedback on what I read.)

    1. Haha, sure. The gist of the story was memory loss. Copper was a memory, idea or dream that the unnamed lady had. Like most ideas, dreams or memories we have, they rarely match up over time.

      1. Ah! Right. There was talk about that sort of thing towards the end. I guess I’m going in semi-blind for a New Game+? Now that’s kinda cool.
