Resist

“The resistance needs to be more open, approachable, and not just shout down our opponents. We need to loose the soap box, drop the insults, and cultivate peoples positive hopes and dreams, whatever end of the political spectrum’s we are on. We all share this earth, and no two people, either side of the fence, are exactly the same.”

~

Last week I submitted 3 pieces the Ello.co x Not For Print resist theme. I do not often do political commentary, I am awful at articulating my opinions. It does not help that I do not fit neatly into any particular category, so I get crap from left, right and center.

I still fight the good fight where I can mind. I have not given up. Even through something as simple as the Fears, I still try to make my voice heard.

The next 3 tales on the Little Fears will relate to the theme Resist. One humorous tale and two character pieces. The need is there to explore this world of the Little Fears.

Semi laid plans

I had some feedback the other day on my personal Twatter from some of you, thanks gang! Mostly positive, but it seems most people like to read a tale in the morning. Funny, weird, horror or whatever. But just one tale in the morning. My plans of 12 posts a week, shall be put back down to 7 tales + 1 blog post a week. More than that and folk either lose track or feel its spamming.

As far as tales go, I am now 270+ tales ahead of today, enough to keep me going until the end of the year. 120’ish horror and 180’ish humor. Though some are unusable or need work. Either way, a change from my post two weeks ago. Sorry to those out there who felt they were getting a barrage of fears!

Fictional Submissions

When submitting fiction to magazines or anthologies they often want content that has not been published anywhere before. In the same breath, they take 3 months to come back to you to tell you if they will use the content or not. So I guess this is an ideal time to put out the distant future tales to magazines and anthologies. Do you know of any magazines or anthology books that could use a Little Fear? Let me know in comments.

Freelancing it

I am sure most of you know, but just a brief reminder. I am currently available for freelance work. I have ended up working as a freelance illustrator. Something I never before saw happening. Though I must confess, I am damn proud of my January book cover.

Man do I love that cover. May look like a scribbled bird, but it has bags of character. Another reminder there, the ebook is going up to £4.99 at the end of this month. Haven’t had time to work on the print edition this week, been a bit mad busy here with non Fears related bits I am afraid.

Tee

I have added Capricorn and Poison to the Little Fears Threadless Tee store. About time I did something with that again.

Spooky lil bugger.

I have 7 of the Fears on Tees on Threadless. All available in a range of colours and styles.

Patreon

Finally, if you would like to support the Little Fears ongoing adventures, head on over to our Patreon page, and help out for as little as $1 a month.

Patreons, you rock!

Capricorn

This darn fine spooky lady is called Capricorn, and she is now available to purchase as an A4 print on the Little Fears Etsy store for just £12.

Also, as it is the 22nd of March, the Little Fears first eBook came out today. Hurrah!

£2.99 for the UK on Amazon.co.uk

$3.65 for the USA on Amazon.com

I get about 70p per sale due to download size on Amazons end. But if you fancy supporting me with a cup of tea, you can grab our book, or even visit our Patreon Page, and support the Little Fears illustrator for as little as $1 a month. I need tea to keep creating this stuff!

Now there’s a thing. I just advertised 3 things in one post, and until I started typing it, I felt awful about putting ads for my products here. But I realised something. I have put out over 100 tales and artworks, free, everywhere I post them. I want to go Copyleft instead of Copyright from April, so my tales and illustrations will be copyright free. Even the content in the books is free if you want to read this site tale by tale. Out of over 100 posts here, there are 5 advert posts. 3 of them are for free things, such as the Skillshare course posts. When I advertised Capricorn on social media, Ello.co liked her enough to put her on the Featured Shop page.

So why do I feel awkward advertising my products?

Eh. The human is a daft thing eh?

While all this is going on, my mind has also assembled a weekly calendar for all the other content I am throwing out there. 8am every day sees a new tale in the same vein as all over this website. Monday and Friday evenings will see a weird fiction post, and Tuesdays and Thursdays will see a TellyTube video. So I shall slot in a product announcement on Wednesday evenings.

Is anyone ever going to complain about 1 post in 12 being an announcement, when I give everything away for free? If anyone does complain, are they worth an ounce of breath or bother?

Edited to add, Copyleft, because I got asked about it on social media.

Teaching

“So he roped you into teaching blogging with him?” asked Yuffie.

“Yeah,” grumbled Fuen.

“Do you know,” said Yuffie, “I had almost forgotten the illustrator is a blogger.”

“He dabbles,” sighed Fuen.

“I don’t know what I would blog about if I had a blog,” said Yuffie.

“Anything you want to say,” asked Fuen.

“That’s the thing,” said Yuffie, “I have nothing interesting to say.”

“Neither does the illustrator,” sighed Fuen.

Illustrator : Ouch. Well yes I roped the Little Fears into teaching a course with me because I am awful at talking to cameras. How to create a media kit for your blog on SkillshareThe first 25 sign ups are free.
