Lucy’s Valentines

“Hello Lucy,” said Yuffie, taking a seat and offering a drink.

Lucy grasped the rum between three slender fingers. “Yuffie. Been a while.”

“You’ve been busy,” said Yuffie. “I heard Amy died in an incident with a gang of crows.”

“A murder,” grinned Lucy.

“Really? Ornithology puns?” sighed Yuffie.

“She was judged and sentenced by twelve ravens,” said Lucy.

“That’s a tad unfair,” replied Yuffie.

“Unfair,” laughed Lucy. “She had her day in court.”

Yuffie winced.

A snippet of Lucy from Grey Moon. She may be a homicidal maniac, but that’s not to say she doesn’t need a little love. Seeing as valentines day is upon us hows about she gets some flowers. Blood roses are a thing, right?

We’ve given her heart two new designs this week. I never thought I’d do a product mock of a pink shirt for the fears… But hey, sometimes it kinda works in an aesthetically pleasing way.

If you’d like to grab either shirt, they’re available on the Little Fears Threadless store. Link: littlefears.threadless.com

Also, if you missed it yesterday, I spotted a free course on selling on Threadless. E-Commerce for Artists: Selling with Print On Demand | Learn with Threadless.

Battery Power

Copper rummaged around a table. She knew she had at least one half-full battery remaining. Though, most of them were empty.

She’d drained and used the deionized water from all of the cells. The empty batteries she’d leave on her brick-a-brak table, outside of her front door. Giving them away to passing strangers.

Free of charge, of course.

Threadless – Free Course

Well, this is worth a look. Browsing Skillshare today, I came across a free class. E-Commerce for Artists: Selling with Print On Demand | Learn with Threadless.

It’s a short and snappy intro to selling on Threadless. My favourite print on demand site.

You can upload designs for t-shirts, notebooks, phone cases and more. You set up a shop page, just like the Little Fears (utterly shameless plug: littlefears.threadless.com ). When items are sold Threadless prints the item and posts it out to your customer. You take a percentage of each sale. A rough idea of earnings, a $20 shirt will give you $5 and Threadless $15.

You do have to promote your page to sell products. But it’s a fab way of contributing an extra few dollars to your monthly income.

The course is free on Skillshare. Click the link below, sign up, skip anything that asks you for subscription and enjoy the class.

Though saying that, I believe there’s an offer on for 2 months free if you sign up through my link. Skillshare is a fab website with thousands of courses from blogging to web design. It’s worth giving the 2 free months a whirl.

Air Jars

Brass Ep. 25

The tail straightened with ease. She replaced its bulbs, cleared its nose and emptied the soil from its mouth.

She grabbed a jar of compressed air off the shelf and blew the last of the dirt out of its head. She’d gotten over a hundred jars of compressed air when she visited the Air and Space Museum. It was a let-down.

There was nothing there.

Knife Skills

By Silk Cords

Brass decided to stay grounded after her failure at electrical work. She decided to try her hand at cooking, recalling several TV shows she’d watched.

Brass went to the local chef’s college and found out there was an entrance exam. The exam consisted of several tests of knife skills such as julienne slicing carrots. After failing to even sharpen her knives properly, the instructor was blunt with Brass…

Her knife skills just didn’t make the cut.

Well, at least I took a stab at it, Brass thought as she left.

Bath Tub

Brass Ep. 24

Home, at last, Copper pulled a tin of WD-40 off the shelf and started giving the creature a clean. Wondering what this robot was for in a previous life. A faded red rectangle with an indigo cross suggested it was built in Norway. Although its front legs were burnt black, she could make out bird decorations on them.

Copper slid the creature into a bathtub filled with oil and let it soak. She figured this Norwegian robot could have been created to study remote bird life. So it Scandinavian.

Black Drink

Brass Ep. 23

Copper needed a rest and a drink of oil. She couldn’t carry this creature the whole way home. She could see a row of shopping trolleys across the street. Further up the road, Copper could see 4-stroke motor oil stacked into a tidy pile.

“This isn’t a date or anything,” she said to her new silent friend. “But I’m about to take you somewhere very expensive.”

Copper eased the creature into a shopping trolley and wheeled her into the petrol stations forecourt.

Love Morph

Fear of Ink (ep. 2)

“Wimmin, huh?” laughed Sprite.

Cloud dropped a few raindrops on Sprite. “So what happened?”

“I told her she should embrace her mistakes,” replied Morph.

“And then?” asked Sprite.

“Well, nothing,” replied Morph. “She just hugged me.”

Cloud held it in as she drifted off on the breeze.

Magnetic Switch

Brass Ep. 22

She tried a switch to turn it on. Aside from a click, there were no signs of life. The metal creatures appearance pleased Copper. She wasn’t sure why. She dragged it out of the earth and gave it a brush, removing the loose soil.

Copper noticed the creature contained magnets as she struggled to release her grip of it. Despite the rust, it looked to be in good condition. A few minor repairs and a battery charge might have it working again. She knew better than to get her hopes up. But she found the idea of a new magnetic friend in these decaying lands quite attractive.
