Froggy Spirits

Do you think when froggy’s die they ascend to a pond in the sky? Looks more like a squid than a frog this gal, but I coloured her for this weeks #Colour_Collective on Twitter and she became a frog spirit. Original doodle in sepia when I got my new pens.

Affiliate links incoming for anyone that would like to snaffle the above gear for themselves.

Siamese Kittehs

Siamese Kittens are the cat spirits of the Little Fears world. It’s debated whether or not these felines are evil on account of them being accused of killing an underground mammal. Personally, I think that’s making a meowtain out of a molehill.

And with that delicious pun, we show off some arts and present some new listings!

Virgo on Threadless from $12.95

Yeah, I went for Virgo. She looks like a bad arse in white.

Siamese Kittehs on Etsy @ £12

For a launch price, Siamese Kittehs are available for £9 per print until 27/3/18. If you’re interested, leave a comment or email me at fears@Gmx.co.uk

Triffids on Etsy @ £12

Still available for £9 a print, but for just 24 more hours! Again, leave a comment or email me if interested.

Chirped on Etsy @ £12

Also, still available for £9 a print, but for just 24 more hours! Again, leave a comment or email me if interested.

Villains & Birdsong

Holy crap does she look like a villain! She’s gotta be the leading big bad in the third Little Fears horror anthology. She has no name yet, though it’d be nice to associate her with an astrological sign. I’m not sure which yet. Maybe Libra? Capricorn and Aries are already taken. Also takes the shade for this weeks #Colour_Collective.

In this week, we have further art. I have learned in the past, Etsy sales fail and people whine about price increases if they notice. So I have three new art prints for sale, introductory offer until Thursday 22nd of March, they will be £9 each rather than the usual £12. If you’d like a print, on our trademark (not trademarked) sexy canvas paper, message me in comments or drop me an email to fears@gmx.co.uk

Triffids

Some serious seventies shades there. If you’d like any of the above in different colour schemes, we can do that too.

Also, we have another submission to Scribblers Cove, the theme of party. Not for sale, but I likes it, so I’m posting it.

If you fancy any of my older art prints, please do visit my Etsy store.

Dryad

A very art-centric Friday post this week. The lady at the top is Dryad. I used to have a thing for doodling nature creatures. With ivy arms and tree trunk legs. They all used to have flowers for heads or something similar to this. Dryad’s my submission for #Colour_Collective this week.

Texture is sexy

Click the image to expand. I get asked if I can supply larger prints of my story images quite often. Unfortunately, the answer is no. I draw 6 panels to an A4 page. That doesn’t scale up well. But I have been debating taking commisions. I had a go with printing a photo onto a canvas texture paper and doodling straight on top. I do love the effect it gives. Fancy something specific? Want to commision an image of your favourite Fears? Drop me a message.

Not a fear, but my submission to Scribblers Cove. Inspired by Daniel Cantus scribbly style.

Little Fears, Little Opinion

Little Fears, Little Opinion

A teensy bit of market research if you please. This week I am re-filling my Etsy store, but I have a quandary. On Etsy, you can upload five or more images of a product. So the first image is the one that sells the product, then the others are different frame colours and close-ups of the paper. My debate is which do I use for a storefront ‘sales’ image.

A wee question to you good folk. Which one of the below images would do a better job of selling you an art piece?

The moody dark Threadless image.

The light and airy Etsy frame image.

If you can spare me a moment of your time, let me know in comments.

Cheers!

Edited to add: To clarify, I am only selling the art print, not a frame or coat hanger. (Thanks, Marge!)

Bugly – Free download for the Patreons

I’ve wanted to offer Patrons something for a while. Always unsure of what. I’m trapped between houses/homeless/aimless wanderings for the foreseeable future. So I figure digital goods are best for now, with physical gifts for patrons at a later date.

A February gift for you in thanks for your continued support, Blue Bugly. She weighs in at 5,000 px by 5,000 px, 300 dpi, and is available for you to use in any non-commercial projects you have going on. Use her as an avatar, stick her on a t-shirt, a postcard or sticker for your turtle’s shell. Or create a unique wrapping paper out of her. Whatever you fancy.

If you do use her, let me know, would be great to give you a shout out on the blog and social media. She’s available to download now for everyone sponsoring me for $1 a month or more.

Doodles – Terror-Dactyl & Other Fears

Quite like sharing my doodle pages, this may become a regular thing. A weekly page share. With some separated and digitized Fears to show where some of my doodles go.

Digitized Doodles

A bit rough, let’s digitize them. I’ve been wondering what I can offer Patreons recently. I could offer monthly postcards from the world in-between. More in keeping with the daily doodles on photos than art prints, but printed on a top-notch 220gsm card stock, post-card size. I could also offer the digitized monsters to Patreons to download. Patreon subscribers could vote on which they want out of a months worth of selection. I’d then send them a link to download the creature and do what they want with them. Non-commercial of course.

Thorny

Have you ever heard of a Tarasque? I think I had. Maybe from 80s Dungeons and Dragons. Yep, ya knew I was gonna be a D&D player right in my yoof right?  Anywho, I think that’s where I had the mental image of this gal. Nobody mention the size of her bottom…

Wasp

A reappearance of Screeches head, but this time with a wasp’s stingy tail. If #Colour_Collective have a yellow theme again, I can fill in her segments yellow and she can go full stingy-stingy grr grr.

Terror-Dactyl

Speaking of #Colour_Collective, this week it’s white. While I was digitizing TD here, I tried inverting her colours. White body and red eyes. That’ll be this week’s portrait then.

I couldn’t help but google Terror-Dactyl. Turns out there’s an awful looking horror movie of the same name. Terrible special effect. Woeful plot. Made for TV I imagine… That’ll be a future film to suggest to Layne and Alex for a Saturday Twitter movie then…

The lady looks good on a Tee too. Maybe the next addition to my Threadless store. I have a lack of tees that would look good in black.

Pens & Paper

Switched over to the Kuretake Zig this week for the black. I do love my Posca’s but I can’t wait to be reunited with my supplies drawer. Six pots of Tipp-Ex await. Scruffy, messy and the mini cheese wedge brush. That’s my white that is!
